Biography

Market Manager Krysta Dennis founded the market with the Mayor and trustees in 2016. The Farmers Market operates from May – September annually, and there are a number of special events associated with the market, including live music weekly, a Holiday Market in December, a corn roast, outdoor yoga, a watermelon-eating contest, and a pumpkin painting event. Krysta is a Board Member of the Farmers Market Federation of New York State, and was one of the first to complete the Farmers Market Certification Program offered by Cornell Cooperative Extension and SUNY Cobleskill.

Krysta also teaches theatre for the Creative Arts Department at Siena College. She holds a dual PhD from the University of Kent in the UK and the Sorbonne in Paris, and trained at L’Ecole Jacques Lecoq. Through her work in theatre, Krysta has fostered collaborations with Siena and local theatre companies for the Frank A. Leak Amphitheatre in the Park.

The Farmers Market is held on Thursdays, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
