AS YOU MAY KNOW, THE STATUS OF THE COVID-19 VIRUS IS RAPIDLY EVOLVING AND THE VILLAGE IS TAKING EXTRA PRECAUTIONS TO ENSURE THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF OUR COMMUNITY. THE HEALTH AND WELFARE OF OUR COMMUNITY, INCLUDING OUR RESIDENTS AND EMPLOYEES IS OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE. TO KEEP EVERYONE SAFE, WE HAVE DECIDED TO TAKE THE FOLLOWING ACTIONS: WE HAVE DECLARED A STATE OF EMERGENCY, AND BEGINNING, WEDNESDAY, MARCH 18, 2020 AND UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, MOST OF THE VILLAGE OF COLONIE STAFF WILL BE WORKING REMOTELY. ALL OUR BUILDINGS WILL BE CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. WE WILL CONTINUE ALL ESSENTIAL SERVICES SUCH AS GARBAGE AND RECYCLING PICK-UP AS SCHEDULED, AS WELL AS DEALING WITH ANY EMERGENCY SITUATIONS OUR DPW USUALLY HANDLES. WE WILL CONTINUE TO RESPOND TO OUR RESIDENTS AND PUBLIC VIA E-MAIL AND TELEPHONE, SEE CONTACT INFORMATION BELOW. THE NORMAL WAY OF CONDUCTING BUSINESS HAS CHANGED, AND WE ARE MAKING A PRO-ACTIVE DECISION TO SET SOME STEPS IN PLACE FOR MOVING FORWARD WITH ONCE CONSIDERED, EVERY-DAY FUNCTIONS. SINCE MOST VILLAGE DEPARTMENTS ARE WORKING REMOTELY, WE UNDERSTAND THERE ARE A FEW ITEMS THAT HAVE COME UP THAT PEOPLE MIGHT WANT TO KNOW HOW TO PROCEED WITH. WE HAVE ESTABLISHED A VIRTUAL MEETING SETTING TO CONDUCT OUR PUBLIC MEETINGS (BOARD OF TRUSTEES, ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS, PLANNING COMMISSION, TRAFFIC COMMITTEE, ETC). THESE MEETINGS WILL  BE RECORDED AND PUT UP ON OUR WEBPAGE FOR PUBLIC ACCESS. TO ACCESS THESE RECORDINGS PLEASE SELECT TAB BOARDS & COMMISSIONS, UNDER AGENDAS & MEETINGS, THE RECORDINGS ARE LISTED IN THE MINUTE AREA OF EACH DESIGNATED BOARD OR COMMISSION. OUR PERMIT APPLICATIONS AND FORMS ARE STILL AVAILABLE ONLINE. YOU CAN DOWNLOAD ANY OF OUR FORMS AND EITHER SCAN THEM SO THEY CAN BE SUBMITTED ELECTRONICALLY, OR YOU CAN SEND THEM VIA REGULAR MAIL. WE WILL CONTINUE TO ISSUE HANDICAP PARKING PERMITS, BIRTH AND DEATH CERTIFICATES, VIA  MAIL OR ELECTRONICALLY. NOTARY SERVICES WILL REMAIN TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT THE PERMIT ISSUING STATUS MAY BE DELAYED DUE TO THE LACK OF PHYSICAL PRESENCE AT THE VILLAGE FACILITIES.
